Security Tips Easter

Easter holidays are a special time when families and friends take time out to take a break.

Unfortunately for us, home burglars view the holidays as a time of opportunity to nick your cash, credit cards, and maybe even your easter eggs.

So here are some tips to guard your home this Easter.

Top tip – illusion.

Give the illusion that someone is always home. Leave a car out front or in the garage. (borrow a mate’s mum’s car if you have to)
Grab yourself a timer to set some lights on in the house while you’re away. You can even hook up an iPod or tv to make a little noise. Ask your other mate next door to collect any mail.

It seems obvious but don’t hide your spare key in an obvious spot. Like in that pot plant to the right. Instead give the spare key to a trusted neighbor.

It sound obvious but, check your windows! Burglars love it when you make it as easy as sliding a window open

Don’t post details on Facebook – “The whole family is away having a great time” = robber in your home having a great time! Burglars love to hear that they have plenty of time to break in and completely ransack your home.

After a lucrative burglary, the chances of being burglarized again are increased to steal the new replacement products.

Last, but not least, fortify your home by installing solid doors, heavy duty locks, longer screws in the door hinges, and install security roller shutters from Shutterguard.

Have a great and secure holiday break this Easter.
